Tobacconist University offers six distinct Certified Tobacconist designations/degrees. Please click on the links below to learn more about each program.

All of our courses are 100% online, self study so you can learn at your own pace and take the final exam at your convenience. In addition, all graduates receive a Certified Listing on our website and a graduation email allowing them to print their diploma at home.

Our entire academic curriculum is available in our Campus and is composed of four colleges:

In addition, we have an FAQ section, Glossary, the TU Blog, and our youtube channel which provides additional educational resources. Our academic curriculum is available for free to all consumers, professionals, and anyone who is interested as we encourage you to learn for free!

Certified

Retail Tobacconist

is designed for professionals who work at full service retail tobacco shops (tobacconists) who specialize in both premium cigars and pipe tobaccos. CRT are the world’s most prestigious and credentialed professional tobacconists, having proven their knowledge and committed to a professional Code of Ethics & Standards.

Certified

Consumer Tobacconist

is a non-professional certification designed for avid consumer enthusiasts who are not employed within the cigar or pipe industry. TU encourages all CRT to provide special privileges and benefits to CCT. This select group of consumers have proven their knowledge and integrity by accepting the TU Code of Ethics & Standards and passing the final exam. CCT are the ultimate consumers!

Certified

Salesforce Tobacconist

is designed for people who are employed directly or indirectly as a sales representative for a particular brand or company within the cigar or pipe industry. This degree is the professional equivalency of our CRT degree, but for those who are not brick and mortar retailers.

Drink sparkling water before or between cigars to clean your palate.  Some also recommend saltine style crackers.  Whatever your preference, the goal is to make your palate as neutral as possible, so avoid anything too acidic.
